Choose boneless, country- style ribs, the meatier, the better. (approximately 1 to 1 and 1/2 ribs per person, depending on appetites- some will only eat 1/2.)

raw pork ribs

BBQ SAUCE:

1/2 cup Heinz ketchup
1 tsp. red pepper flakes – chopped finely
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
1 Tbsp. chopped parsley

Directions:

Cut ribs in half; place in large pot. Cover ribs with water, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. fresh ground pepper. Par-boil ribs for 45 minutes to 1 hour, just until tender.

Combine remaining ingredients except parsley in medium saucepan and mix well. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Reserve half for dipping sauce. Coat ribs in sauce and place over medium hot coals on barbecue (or several inches below broiler in 450 degree oven). Turn and coat with more sauce a few times until ribs are sticky and browning, about 15 minutes. Serve on tray; sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve with dipping sauce on the side.
