Hearty Beef Stew
Winter is the time of year for thick and meaty stew. This family favorite will have the house smelling wonderful as it simmers to perfection.
Ingredients:
1 pound Stew Beef cubed
3 Tablespoons Flour
1 Tablespoon Paprika
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Celery Stalks sliced
2 Medium Carrots sliced
3 Medium Yukon Gold Potatoes cubed
1 Medium Yellow Onion chopped
3 Cloves Chopped Garlic
1 Small Can Diced and Stewed Tomatoes
1 Bay Leaf
1/2 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
3 Cups Beef Broth
1 Teaspoon Tomato Paste
1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Directions:
Mix flour and seasonings in a quart bag. Add beef cubes and shake until well coated. Brown the beef cubes and any remaining flour mixture in the oil over medium heat in a large sauce pan. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer until carrots and potatoes are tender and broth thickens. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with fresh parsley.
