Welcome to Churn Creek Cellars, just off Interstate 5, exit 670 in Anderson.

Owners Layne and Denise McLean started their venture in viticulture and wine making by planting a small vineyard on their property in 2009 in the Churn Creek “bottom”. They bottled their first batch under the Fat Basset Vineyards label, opened a tasting room and the rest is history. Years of hard work by this industrious couple has produced several award winning wines, with names like Undefeated and Master Craftsman, that truly capture their entrepreneurial spirit. Beyond their own backyard, the McLean’s love to share their passion for their craft with others. As a result Layne teaches wine making classes at Shasta College and is happy to answer questions and explain the process to visitors to this cheerful little vineyard of the valley.

Churn Creek Cellars is proud to host ‘Art by the Bottle’, a fun time directed by resident artist Ms. Kristine Dickey-Rodola, where patrons gather to have a glass of wine, and complete an art project, all in the same evening.

This monthly attempt to tap into your artistic side costs $30 per person. Space is limited to 18-20 participants, so reserve your spot early. Contact Kris at kidartlover21@yahoo.com for upcoming dates and to reserve your space. Visit the tasting room to view or purchase works by this talented artist that has been teaching classes at Foothill High School for over 10 years.
