Homemade Chicken Alfredo

Trying to impress him? Or her? Look no further than this homemade chicken Alfredo recipe. It’s proven to be a real crowd pleaser.

Ingredients

3 chicken breasts

Whole wheat noodles or whatever you prefer

Olive oil for cooking

Mrs. Dash’s garlic seasoning

Italian seasoning

Freshly minced garlic to taste

For the sauce

1/2 cup butter

1 pint whipping cream (2 cups)

4 ounces cream cheese

1/2 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste (not much is needed. I recommend

a pinch of each)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

I’ve never made homemade noodles before but I have tried them and they are delicious. You can do that or you can do the obvious quick and easy trick of boiling store bought noodles according to the package. Once you’ve got that going it’s time to start on the chicken. Toss a little olive oil in a pan and proceed to cut the chicken into bite sized chunks then toss them in too. I like to cook mine with fresh garlic, Mrs Dash garlic seasoning (seriously you can never have to much of this), and a little Italian seasoning. Once the chicken is cooked through set aside.

Next onto the sauce. This homemade thick and creamy Alfredo sauce will have your taste buds screaming for more. In a medium sauce pan add the butter, heavy cream and cream cheese. Cook over low to medium heat stirring with a whisk until melted. Throw in the seasonings, whisking until smooth. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for about five minutes or until it thickens. Remember to continue to stir so it doesn’t burn. Turn heat to low to keep warm, toss in the drained noodles and chicken and enjoy. I prefer to serve my Alfredo with an Italian salad and warm garlic bread. Enjoy.
