Serve mulled wine scented with vanilla and cinnamon to make the holidays fragrant.
Ingredients
1 bottle (750 milliliters) dry red wine
2 McCormick Gourmet™ Organic Cinnamon Sticks, Saigon
1 piece McCormick Gourmet™ Vanilla Beans, Madagascar, split in half lengthwise and seeds scraped
1/4 cup superfine sugar
McCormick Gourmet™ Organic Nutmeg, Whole, grated
Place all ingredients except nutmeg in large saucepan. Bring to simmer on medium heat.
Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes. Serve warm with freshly grated nutmeg.
Cooking tip
Use red wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz (Syrah), Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc or Zinfandel. Serves: 4 Serving Size: 1 cup.
