Those of you that loved playing dodgeball as a child, and paintball as you grew older, will be happy to know that there is now a new sport to exercise your inner hunter. This latest craze known as Archery Tag® might just be your new favorite game.

Two teams, consisting of 6 players each, play opposite one another, separated by a “safe zone.” Played with specialized bows and virtual painless, foam tipped arrows contestants endeavor to complete two objectives. The first is to take out the opponents on the other team by hitting them with your arrows. Your opponent is also “out” if you catch an arrow that they fired. The second objective is to hit the Spot Knockout Targets of which there are five. There are two ways to return to the game once you have been “out”. If a member of your team catches an arrow or hits one of the five spot knockout targets they are then free to choose a eliminated team member of their team to return to the game.

Unlike some other sports, the only safety equipment required to play Archery Tag® is a facemask. Players experience virtually no pain when hit with Archery Tag® arrows. Arrows should be used only with Archery Tag® Bows, and should in no way be used in any other type of bow (compound, recurve, longbow, or crossbow, etc.). Failure to adhere to this rule can result in equipment damage, personal injury, and loss of your franchisee’s Archery Tag® License. Have fun but always safety first.

Licensed Archery Tag® arena’s can be found at Down Range in Chico, Diamond Arrow Christian Conference in Grass Valley, Wild Sheep Foundation in Reno and at Cabela’s Reno. Draw back your bow and let the arrows fly.
