When I think of Red Bluff, it’s rodeo, the home of great beef, and ‘down home’ cooking. That is exactly what you can expect at the Rockin’ R Restaurant just off Highway 5 on Antelope Blvd in Red Bluff. The large, immaculate dining room and very friendly staff are ready to serve. And boy do they serve up some good grub. Whether I go for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I always enjoy a real, home-cooked meal.
The breakfast menu is loaded with tasty omelets that will (as they put it) “get your rooster crowing.” The Motherlode Omelet includes diced ham, bacon and sausage with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and a generous portion of cheese. If you’re yearning for some authentic Biscits & Gravy, look no further. They make fresh waffles too.
High noon at Rockin’ R means feeding the hunger. Locals and visitors frequent this quaint establishment often for their long list of Gourmet Burgers and their giant one, the Double Barrel One Pounder. BLT, Steak Sandwich and French Dip include generous portions like everything else. Other sandwiches to savor are the Pot Roast Melt, Tuna Melt or Homestyle Chicken. Big salads include the California Chicken and Taco Salad, to name a few.
Order the appetizers! They deep fry Green Beans and Pickles, and prepare their signature Jalapeño Bacon Corn Bites. Try them all in their Campfire Combo Platter. My favorite appetizer is Coconut Shrimp with Sunset Chili Sauce.
For dinner, timeless classics like Chiken Fried Steak, Fried Chicken Breast, and Rockin’ Meatloaf are popular choices. Coastal favorites include their famous Fish & Chips or Grilled White Fish. Choose from their line-up of fresh Certified Angus Beef from Harris Ranch. Steaks and pot roast are delicious or Prime Rib which is available on Friday nights. Choose from 8oz, 12oz and 16oz cuts. (Quantities are limited.)
Save room for their Pie Ala Mode (apple or peach) or try their famous and filling hand-scooped Banana Split. Stop in soon.
