Heritage Fishing Challenge
If you are an avid trout fisherman, you may want to take this challenge to get a gorgeous print of six native trout. If you go out and catch six different forms of California native trout from their historic drainages, you can receive your own personalized certificate featuring colorful photos of six types of native trout by renowned fish illustrator Joseqh Tomelleri. The colorful print is sized to fit in a standard 16 X 20 inch matted frame.
Although they are not as abundant and widespread as they used to be, many opportunities still exist for anglers to catch California native trout. The California Fish and Game Commission established the program to help educate the public and emphasize angling opportunities for catching native trout.
To enter the contest, anglers must verify each catch with a photo. There is no time restriction for completing the challenge. Any native trout caught in their appropriate waters qualify, even if caught years ago. However only one certificate will be issued to each angler per calendar year.
