HOMEMADE LINEN SPRAY WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

Whether you want to infuse your sheets with the calming scent of lavender, or mist your towels with energizing citrus, linen spray is wonderful…and typically expensive. Not only is it more cost effective to make your own, but it’s invaluable to personally choose which ingredients go into your household products. You can also customize the scent, experimenting with how you and your family react to different essential oils.
Ingredients: 1 oz inexpensive vodka (or isopropyl alcohol)
20 to 30 drops lavender essential oil
2 ½ oz distilled water You will need a four-ounce glass spray bottle. (I bought mine at a natural foods store, but some craft suppliers also carry them.)
Directions:
Combine vodka (or alcohol) and essential oils in a four-ounce glass spray bottle. Shake to mix. Add distilled water and shake again. Lightly spray on sheets, pillows or towels. Shake before each use.
Alcohol preserves freshness, enhances the scent and helps the oils to mix with the water. Many people prefer using vodka, stating that it doesn’t have the additives that rubbing alcohol does.
You can make a bigger batch and store it in a large glass container. The mixture can then be used for refilling spray bottles or adding to laundry water when washing sheets and towels.
Depending on which essential oils are added, this formula can be used as a room spray.
To identify homemade products you can make up tags on the computer and print them on label stickers.
Note: Essential oils can stain some fabrics, so this spray is not recommended for use on clothing.
