Opening Mom’s Old Mill Cafe in late June brought Jason Theobald back to his home town.  He is the third generation of his culinary clan to proudly serve the community of Westwood. Since his grandmother Maxine placed her first famous pie in the oven, locals began coming back for more. On the corner of 4th and Birch streets in the same location as his father Rod’s former restaurant, The Old Mill Cafe, Jason and his staff will still be plating up Grandma Maxine’s famous cheesecake as well as all of her delicious fruit and cream pies.

Serving breakfast and lunch daily from 7:00am – 2:00pm Mom’s Old Mill Cafe offers the best fresh baked biscuits and creamy sausage gravy for miles around. Of course you can still order all the classic American favorites like chicken fried steak & eggs, fluffy apple bacon pancakes and omelettes with your choice of fresh and flavorful fillings. Their huge Lumberjack Breakfast Burrito smothered in Country Gravy and giant cinnamon rolls covered in icing are just a few of the choices for those with a hearty appetite. Those that prefer a lighter meal in the morning might choose the one egg breakfast with your choices of bacon or sausage and home fries or hash browns or the tasty Mom’s Mill Muffin, one egg, your choice of meat and melting cheese served on a crispy toasted english muffin.

Lunchtime also brings all the American traditions to the table like juicy burgers topped with your favorites such as bacon, mushrooms, pastrami or even jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. All burgers and sandwiches like the french dip or rueben are served with your choice of fries, tater tots, soup or salad. These side salad choices include creamy coleslaw daily and either homemade macaroni or homemade potato salad, you will never find pre-made here. Several generously portioned salads grace the menu at Mom’s Old Mill Cafe including the Cobb Salad heaping with grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, hard boiled egg and rich bleu cheese crumbles.

Every day brings new delicious specials to offer the locals and visitors alike so drop in on Jason and his staff and see what they are cooking up today.
