As the leaves begin to change and the kids return to school I am reminded that the time is drawing near for the fabulous antique shows that dot the north state this time of year. Vendors from miles around and even states away gather to showcase their treasures and the consumers can’t seem to get enough. No matter how much we bought last season the antique lover within demands that we go “just to see what’s new.”
The fun begins September 30th with the annual indoor/outdoor Fall Festival & Flea Market at Trends Vintage Marketplace & Co., at 161 Locust Street in Redding. Festivities begin at 10am and admission is free. Live music along with food and drink vendors add to the reasons to stay and browse through all the great vintage items on display. A petting zoo is also in the works to add a bit of fun for the children while the adults travel through the treasures and trinkets of days gone by.
Vendors can sign up as long as there is space available and booth space is a steal at $50 for a 12×12 space. Vendors must sell authentically vintage items to be eligible for booth space at this one-of-a-kind antiquing adventure. Bring your friends and your holiday shopping list. You are sure to find the perfect gift for that someone who is so hard to buy for. No gift is more heartfelt than a blast from the past to whisk the receiver back to their younger days.
Mark October 7th on your calendar for a Saturday morning trip to the lovely Patrick Ranch in Durham for the annual Chico Antiques & Design Fall Fair. Once again a wide variety of vendors will gather at the museum to offer treasures from past and present. This unique show has something for everyone, with goods ranging from high end antiques and collectibles, to shabby chic handmade creations.
This shopper’s extravaganza, hosted by 8th & Main Antique Center in Chico, begins at 9am and is the perfect destination for finding those early holiday gifts that are one-of-a kind. Admission is $5 and all gate proceeds benefit Patrick’s Ranch. Mansion tours add a bit more history to this shopping trip through time. Food and drink vendors will be on hand as well offering a variety of culinary delights.

Vendors will be taken as long as space allows. Photos of your intended inventory are required prior to vendor approval and $100.00 buys a 12×12 booth space.
Roses & Rust is an all-time favorite that you don’t want to miss. With over 100 vendors, this premier vintage market offers everything from antique furniture and jewelry to vintage clothing, toys and crafts. Scheduled for November 3 & 4, this bi-annual favorite is sure to draw a crowd to the Shasta District Fairgrounds at 1890 Briggs Street in sunny Anderson, California.
Tickets available for Friday the 3rd are limited so you may want to get yours online early at www.eventbrite.com/e/roses-rust-vintage-market-tickets-30759269804. Show hours will be Friday evening 4-8pm and all day Saturday 9am-4pm. Tickets cost $15.50 for both days and $7.50 for Saturday only.
