Have you met Julie, the new Golf Course Manager at Lake Almanor West? She is enjoying her job, the picturescue scenery, and all the great feedback she gets from golfers about the beauty of the course and its playability.
If you haven’t golfed Lake Almanor West yet, you are in for a real treat. Magical views of Mount Lassen shine on this nine-hole course with with 6329-yard, par 72, forest-lined fairways, and uniquely, it offers two distinctively different sets of tee boxes, for the full 18-hole experience. A forest of huge pine, fir and cedar trees surround the course, as does a community that feels more like family.
The course is part of a 615-acre community that sits on the quiet west shore of Lake Almanor. Wildlife is plentiful with bald eagles and osprey soaring by often. There are also those times golfers have to wait for the deer to move out of the way before taking their shot. Guests enjoy the mountain beauty and do tell that they love both the challenge and playability of this course.
Julie is also excited about the great selections in the pro shop this year, bringing in popular Arnold Palmer brands, Penguin, Puma, and Tail, the #1 golf brand for women.
She was most excited and proud to tell us about the great team they have put together, ensuring a wonderful experience for everyone, whether they’re playing 9 holes, 18 holes or just out shooting a bucket of balls. She said the course is beautiful, and for that she credits their talented Golf Maintenance Supervisor, Eric Anderson.

UNITY GRILL Adds Fresh Seafood, Steaks & More!
Lake Almanor West Golf Course is happy to welcome back the Unity Grill. Chef A.J. is pleased to bring fresh seafood and succulent steaks in for his guests this year. The menu looks amazing. Start the day with one of Chef ’s hearty Breakfast Burritos or a full breakfast.
Stay for his famous barbecued meals, or enjoy a host of great lunch menu items. Choose from brisket, pulled pork and several chicken sandwiches including Teriyaki and Buffalo Chicken or just grilled chicken. Garden Salad, BLT, and Deli Sandwich are all on the menu. Try the Grilled Prosciutto, Cheddar & Swiss on sourdough.
Sides include coleslaw, fries, Tater Tots, baked beans, potato or pesto salad and onion rings. A line up of appetizers and even corn dogs grace the menu.
A.J.’s famous barbecue is back too. Enjoy Beef Kabobs, Brisket Plate, Loggers Combo and Smoked Chicken.
New this year are the succulent steaks, a 16 oz. New York Strip and 20 oz. Ribeye steak. Rosemary Garlic Roasted Fillet of Halibut is also a big hit.
