Carol’s Prattville Cafe has been serving locals and visitors to Lake Almanor for decades. It is set on the scenic west shore, right on the lake, alongside Wilson’s Camp Prattville Resort. Folks flock back year after year for the delicious food that made Carol’s is famous. Each year she adds new entrees, and as always, it’s comfort food with a twist. Fresh ingredients, homemade with Carols’s touch of culinary magic keeps customers coming back.

The stunning location nestled lakeside in the woods, can be reached by car, by boat or on a bicycle. The Lake Almanor Recreational Trail is very close by, offering miles of paved shoreline trails, and on the lakeside, they offer a courtesy dock for diners coming by boat. The quaint cafe brings back the distinct feeling of summers long past.

Breakfast and lunch are served daily with dinners Friday through Monday. Don’t miss her famous Fried Chicken Dinner, served family style on Sundays with mashed potatoes, cream gravy, corn on the cob and homemade biscuits with honey. Other specials include Prime Rib dinner on Saturday and Sunday and a new special, Blackberry Zinfandel Short Ribs braised in Blackberry Zinfandel Sauce, served on a bed of sun-dried tomato polenta cakes with lemon sautéed kale.

Her new 2017 dinner menu features old favorites like Carol’s Steak Delmonico or a plump and juicy ribeye steak seasoned and grilled with roasted garlic butter. You can add grilled or fried shrimp on the side. Choose from Honey Glazed Pork Chops or Baked Salmon, fresh Atlantic salmon with a glaze of fresh Sriracha and honey with toasted sesame seeds, spring onions and fresh herbs. Carol is an excellent chef and she loves to cook.
