One quick trip to the building supply store and we were ready to break out the step-by-step instructions also included. It was surprising how quick and easy it was to put it all together. Thanks to murphybeds.com we completed the entire project in a single afternoon, although we did add a few more coats of stain the next day. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have stained all the pieces as they were cut, before assembly as the instructions had recommended. Lorraine Shoemaker and I assembled the mechanism while Ben and Pat Graham cut the lumber to the instructions specs. Once Ben had built the outer frame, Lorraine and I attached the headboard while the boys put the bed together.
