Nelson has enjoyed cooking for over 15 years and especially enjoys the lakeside ambience. Owner Trudi Dillard tells us they are open 7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They use the freshest ingredients including 100% natural Black Angus beef. Dining is available indoors or on the deck.
There is a nice line up of “starters” including crispy coconut prawns, Dungeness crab cakes and their new spicy tuna roll, to name a few. They serve a variety of salads like the classic Caesar, southwestern chicken salad and Asian taco salad with pepper crusted Ahi. Sandwiches include the Philly cheese steak, pulled pork and more. A personal pepperoni pizza and roasted portobello sandwich are also choices at lunch.
There is a flavorful array of dinner entrees. Braised chicken with a Chardonnay cream sauce, pan roasted fresh pacific halibut with a Thai glaze and baby back ribs… Entrees are served with salad or soup (Lakeside’s clam chowder). Lemon herb linguini with grilled tiger shrimp is a favorite for pasta lovers but it is hard for me to pass up a Black Angus steak.
The dinner menu also offers a Lakeside burger, tavern style fish & chips and fresh panko crusted salmon. Prime rib is served on Fridays and Saturdays. Gorgeously delicious dessert specials are offered nightly. Come enjoy the views and lakeside cuisine at Plumas Pines Resort, with Almanor’s only lakefront dining, just off Hwy. 89.
