Happy
Valentines Day!
Tis the season for love and perhaps time to add some magic to your marriage…? Okay, so it is normally not a real big holiday in your household, except maybe with the kids. And with money tight in so
many households across America, this is probably one holiday you could skim right over with little more than a card for your valentine.
Cards are great and every good spouse will probably come home with one but I challenge you to go a little further than than you usually do. Don’t just say it. show it. Love IS in the air and this is the time of year to reseal the deal by letting them know you’d marry them all over again.
Need some ideas? The unexpected is always appreciated. So say, it is normal for you to offer up a spendy valentine gift that you stop for on the way home every February 14th. This year, you might try coming home a little early and surprising your honey with a candlelit dinner for two that you made (or picked up and properly distributed to fancy serving dishes). It’s okay to include that expected gift too. And it’s okay not to.
Suppose you took the time to whip up a heart shaped cake or your hubby’s favorite dessert with some fancy valentine flair. Maybe you could spend a few hours sprucing up the bedroom, or installing something your wife’s been hounding you about. You can leave the card right on your project.
When is the last time you told your husband or wife how much you love them? When was the last time you really thought about how much you do and what life might be like without them. It may be hard to picture, but a glimpse might send you off sealing the deal in a big way. I hope so.
If your relationship has taken a back burner in your busy lives or your love is so obvious you never even need to mention it anymore, this may be notice to begin changing things some. Doing something nice, unexpectedly will bring change. As a matter of fact. that process has been proven again and again. If you do something unexpectedly nice for your spouse everyday for 28 days, you are likely to find yourself with a very nice partner, who treats you like gold. So, go ahead, do something totally unexpected to show your love. Think back to the beginning of your relationship and rekindle some of that magic. After all, ‘tis the season!
