Throughout our lives there are several occasions that we wish to be extraordinary in way that builds a memory so special that we never forget. Johnston Family Carriages is in the business of adding an everlasting element to your special occasions with rides in an antique, Amish built, horse drawn carriage. Jackie and Kenny Johnston certainly go the extra mile offering several decoration options to suit any occasion. If you have a taste or theme outside the box Jackie is ready to go with it. Ichabod, the proud and handsome Clydesdale is happy to parade you to your destination. He was rescued from starvation by the Johnstons and loves to work the carriages. You can find several pictures of him and the other horses as well as the step by step restoration of the carriage at www.johnstonfamilycarriages.com. What an awesome way to make a living!
I was amazed at how inexpensive such a special touch could really be. Daily rides 30 minutes long are a very modest $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under.
Wedding packages, which include the decorated carriage, a driver dressed to your specs, just married sign, rides for the guests and complimentary sparkling cider begin at just $175.00. They will even help you gentlemen left out there give your intended a proposal so romantic she could never refuse. A ride in the sunset to the spot you chose ahead of time, who could say no to that. Prices vary for this service depending on distance. Twinkling 30 minute rides to view Christmas lights, in a sleigh if snow permits, will begin December 10th and continue until the 31st. Complete with the sleigh bells and costing only $12.00 for adults $6.00 for children this is sure to be a ride filled with wonder for the little ones this holiday season. Speaking of the little ones Johnston
Family Carriages also does birthday parties complete with rides from Bumble Bee the Shetland pony. There are several decoration choices for the carriage for birthdays as well. I’m sure the last time I checked the kid with pony rides had the coolest birthday party. It truly is the added special touch to build a memory you’re 10 year old will cherish into adulthood. That’s what it’s all about, right?
Johnston Family Carriages is a home based business so there is no office to visit. Just give Jackie Johnston a call at 530-249-6071 and she will cheerfully hook up the horses. Check out the website and please remember to tip your driver. Ichabod and Bumble Bee prefer their tips in the form of carrots or apples. Be sure to make your reservations well in advance to ensure availability on your special date. Enjoy your ride and tell Jackie that Mountain Valley Living sent you. Giddy-Up!
